Matthew Bowdon

HI I am Matt.

Matthew Bowdon is the Creative Director and co-founder of The Cedars Union. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Industrial Design, Matthew first launched Dalahast Studios, a design studio he co-founded with his sister in Fort Worth, Texas.

At The Cedars Union, Matthew plays a pivotal role in guiding artists and the broader community through prototyping and manufacturing. As the primary educator for the woodshop and technological equipment, he provides hands-on training, ensuring that emerging artists gain the technical skills needed to expand their creative practices. In addition to education, Matthew oversees brand management, graphic design, and the filming and editing of programming videos, helping to document and share the impact of The CU’s initiatives.

Beyond his daily work with artists, Matthew is actively involved in shaping the future of The Cedars Union, overseeing plans for its future home, The Boedeker. His passion for supporting emerging artists in North Texas is at the core of his work, and when he’s not in the shop or at his desk, you’ll likely find him enjoying Tex-Mex and dreaming up the next big project for The CU.
